Creatine is one of the most beloved sports nutrition supplements, having assisted athletes and recreational trainers over decades in achieving their goals. Creatine is actually a tripeptide, composed of arginine, glycine and methionine. It is naturally synthesized in the body, some of which is eventually lost from the muscle cell and excreted as creatinine. Creatine is an important part of our anaerobic energy system, as a structural component of phosphocreatine. Phosphocreatine has the impressive ability to regenerate ADP back up to ATP without requiring oxygen, as most energy synthesis does. This is great if you are wanting to support your anaerobic energy pathways, or for short term bouts of activity with rest periods in between. In fact, it has been suggested that creatine supplementation is useful for exercises lasting up to three miuntes1. Furthermore, creatine supplementation can reduce the amount of recovery needed between sets, which makes sense, as skeletal muscle ATP levels can be restored faster when the have a higher phsophocreatine content2. ATP Science Creatine Monohydrate Creapure is a fantastic supplement option for anyone wanting to maximise their cellular reserves of phosphocreatine.
Creatine is synthesized in the body at about 1 gram per day, with omnivorous diets containing about 1 gram per day also. Fish is perhaps an even better source of this tripeptide than red meat, which makes sense given the musclular energy required to push a biological structure through a body of water at a high speed—resistance training to the max! Though pescatarians, with regular fish intake, may still have a high dietary level, research shows that vegetarians tend to have lower resting creatine concentrations3. This means that supplementation with creatine will likely be morebeneficial among vegans and vegetarians, or anyone with low meat or fish consumption.
Creatine is not just about boosting muscle performance, however. An interesting study published way back in 2003 indicated that this sports and exercise supplement can positively impact working memory and intelligence at a dosage of 5 grams daily4. This is likely due to an increase in neuronal energy reserves.
ATP Science Creatine Monohydrate Creapure is a great all round sports nutrition, and even wellness, product. ATP Science Creatine Monohydrate Creapure is vegan friendly and contains the purest creatine on the planet: Creapure®.

ATP Science Creatine Monohydrate Suggested Use:
Take 5g of ATP Science Creatine 1 - 2 times daily. For best results ATP Science recommends consuming 3 - 5 g of Creapure® immediately pre or post workout with a protein and carbohdyrate blend to maximise its uptake by the muscle.
