Senna Klenz is a unique combination of herbs with a delicious lemon lime flavour, perfect for after a meal to relax and digest your food. Especially useful when extra fibre is added to your diet to further enhance elimination.

Senna (Cassia angustifolia) originally comes from Egypt and goes by the name of Alexandrian senna. Its leaves are used for medicinal purposes as herbal dynamite for constipation. Senna has purgative effects and it helps to increase the peristaltic movements of the colon by its local action upon the intestinal wall.

Fennel seed (Foeniculum vulgare) has anti-inflammatory and diuretic effects. It acts as a digestive aid which is beneficial for gas and bloating. It can also be used for respiratory infections and increasing milk flow in breastfeeding women.

Peppermint leaf (Mentha piperita) has been used medicinally for thousands of years. It contains compounds, such as menthol, which help to eliminate intestinal gas, relieve gut and other smooth muscle spasms, stimulate bile flow, and have pain-killing effects.

Rose hips (Rosa spp.) are fruits of the rose that appear in late summer or fall. It has a zesty acidic but fruity taste due to the rich amount of ascorbic acid (vitamin C) present. Fresh rose hips are found to contain 60 times as much vitamin C as oranges. This makes rose hips beneficial for preventing infection, improving various skin conditions and aiding stomach ulcers, nervousness, liver problems and rheumatism.

Ginger root (Zingiber officinale) is highly recognised as a spice. It has been used medicinally for thousands of years by Chinese physicians. It acts as an antioxidant and has antibacterial, anti-inflammatory, anti-clotting and pain-killing properties. Ginger aids in improving liver function, lowering cholesterol, relieving nausea and vomiting, and improving digestion, as well as having beneficial effects on the heart. It has anti-ulcer activity and helps to improve the function of the muscles in the gut while relieving spasm. Ginger is also valued for its warming properties.

Marshmallow (Althaea officinalis) has a reputation as a soothing and healing plant. It has demulcent, emollient, diuretic, anti-inflammatory and expectorant actions. Marshmallow is useful for stomach and duodenal ulcers, catarrh, coughs, colds and urinary tract infections.

Senna Klenz is a combination of purgative and diuretic herbs, as well as herbs that aid digestion. A great herbal tea before or after meal!
